Painting a Hand
As long as I know I wanted to paint a big hand. Don’t ask why, because I can’t give you the answer. It is very difficult to paint hands. You can see its quality by the way the painter paints hands. In my case, they are a little abstract, because it is symbolic.
As I started painting the first hand called “Stop!”…
tears rolled down my cheeks and I was completely overwhelmed. I knew that there would come some more paintings, because it is an important issue.
All these paintings are or will be about unwanted touches, felt in a girls’s or women’s life. No one is allowed to touch you unless you give them permission. I painted these in light of the #metoo movement and I know there will be more paintings.
The #metoo movement is a movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault. To read more about it click here.
I am motivated by the love of the process. Painting is like an intense compulsion for me. See my artists approach.
